INTRODCUTION

National Institute of Technology Hamirpur has been actively contributing toward the development of society. The Community Development Cell was established through the inital grant received from World Bank Funded Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP). Various programmes have been organized for unorganized, unemployed and unskilled youth. These programmes were aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of these people. Over the last four years more than 3000 people in various fileds like plumbing, refrigeration, maintenance of electrical/electronic gadgets, solid waste management, computer, Internet technologies, etc. have received training. Many of them have started their own entrepreneurship programme after being trained at NIT Hamirpur. The institute is committed toward wholesome development of society by educating not only its own students but extending its services and technical know-how to the community.

Community Development Cell has scheduled following Short term training programme. All those who are interested, may please contact the coordinators of the respective programmes.
