ABOUT THE HOST DEPARTMENT 

The Department of Mathematics is an independent department of the institute. The department has well equipped laboratory of Mathematical Computations with Internet and software facilities. The department is supported by potential and devoted members of faculty. The research potential of this faculty is witnessed through published books; research papers in journals of both national and international repute and sponsored projects executed funded by various funding agencies such as CSIR, UGC, and MHRD. Also , the faculty has the credit of successful guidance of Ph.D. scholars in addition to imparting teaching to B.Tech. /B.Arch. and M.Tech. Classes of different disciplines. About twenty candidates have completed their Ph.D. degrees and at present 12 scholars are continuing. The department has the credit of organizing a national conference on Advances in Mathematics and its Applications-2008 in addition to co-organizing 46^th ISTAM Congress in 2001. This department has contributed and is contributing for the overall development of the institution.
