ABOUT THE HOST INSTITUTE 

NIT Hamirpur was established as Regional Engineering College, HAMIRPUR (HP) in 1986 and elevated as National Institute of Technology in June , 2002 before it became an Institute of National Importance through NIT Act 2007. The Institute functions from Sprawling pollution free, neat and clean campus facing snow clad Dhauladhar mountain ranges. Being a premier institute of the country, it is imparting Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate education in Engineering, Science, Management and Humanities. The Institute has created excellent facilities and essential amenities in its campus such as Faculty housing, Guest House, Hostels, Bank (SBI) with ATM facility, post office, dispensary, open air theatre, indoor and outdoor facilities for games etc. The Institute over the years has also developed ultra modern infrastructure including classrooms, library, seminar & conference hall and a well-equipped auditorium. The institute has conducted large number of conferences, seminars, workshops, community development and training programmes in the recent past. The NIT Hamirpur has been rated at 9.6 on a scale of ten by the World Bank during implementation of TEQIP- project.
