*PRAYAS 2012 - annual cultural-cum-charity show of LITERACY MISSION is scheduled on 14 April 2012. The theme of PRAYAS this year is 'A STAND TO MAKE THEM STAND'. (see Financial Brouchure)

*A health camp for triggering awareness concerning various health related problems amongst the workers at construction site was organised on 19th March 2012 with the help of RED CROSS Society. The panel of experts cautioned the people about the ill effects of large family on family's economic condition, and had supervised them to opt for Family Planning.

*Like every year, this year too, kids tried out their best for JNV entrance exam. This year the number of aspirants appearing for JNV exam grew up to 10.

*Keeping in view the health conditions of kids, yoga classes are being organised daily in mornings, to maintain their physical fitness. Protein rich gram and groundnut are also given to them after regular yoga classes.

*Sarita Sharma, renowned poetess who had come for Hill'ffair-2011 (Cultural Fest NITH) had applauded the devotion of mission and motivated the volunteers to accomplish great success, in her awe-inspiring poetic style.

*Deepak, a child prodigy hailing from slums has made it through JNV entrance exam with his exemplary efforts and Literacy Missions welkin….

*To meet with the English incompetence of kids, English classes are being run on Sundays which has made them capable to study better.


* A medical camp was organised on 23th and 24th October 2011 attended by about.


* Ritu, student of Literacy Mission topped ITI college with 81% marks.

* Clothes were distributed on 18th September 2011 among more than 550 people hailing from NIT Campus Slum.

* Special classes of Moral education are being organised in guidance of Dr. Anoop Sir, MED, NIT Hamirpur weekly. English Classes are also being organised weekly.

* Another boy Vishal, also from slum made his way to Gurukul public School taking total strength of Literacy Mission students in Gurkul to 3.

* PNB is sponsoring Madhu (10th Class) for her studies in Gurukul Public School.

* Chandan, hailing from NIT Campus Slum scored 86.4% in his H.P. 10th Board. Now, Shimla Classes, Hamirpur is imparting free IIT-JEE/AIEEE coaching to Chandan.

* During SANGAM 2011, NIT Hamirpur alumni meet, alumni visited Literacy Mission and praised this noble activity.

* Total strength of children attending Literacy Misiion crossed 150.

* Computer course was organised between 21 - 25th July 2011.70 children were made computer literate.School Bags and Umbrella were also distributed among children. This was 4thcourse of this type organised jointly by Literacy Mission and Computer Department, NIT, Hamirpur.

* Parayas 2011 was organised by Literacy Mission on 12th April 2011 successfully.
