Introduction

Training & Placement department was established in this institute in the year  1995.  Since then lots of activities are being conducted within the ambit of this department for the benefit of students.

Salient Features about campus placement:

*       Every year, more than 50 companies of repute including MNC's visit NIT Hamirpur

*       More than 90% of total students placed under campus placement

*       Recruitment for every batch starts from August onwards

*       Almost all eligible students are placed in companies of International and National of recruits under campus placement.

*       Above 50% of students are getting more than one placement.

This department is arranging placement interviews/written tests for various companies and helping students to get jobs in different organizations. The final selection is subject to fulfilling the terms and conditions mentioned in the offer letters issued by the companies. We are also getting a continuous feedback from the industry about our students recruited during the previous years through campus recruitment. Our students are doing very well in these organizations. Because of improved infrastructure and facilities in the institute during the last couple of years and praiseworthy performance of our passed out students in the industrial organizations and our continuous persuasion, many companies of repute are showing their interest to visit our institute on the very first day of campus recruitment schedule. Our institute has decided to start the concept of Dream Job Option for students once more than 80% students of a batch are placed. Students will be asked to give their choice for any one of the dream job companies interested to visit our campus for 2nd round (i.e. one chance to appear in the company of their choice). However, joining of students selected by an organization / company during campus interviews depends upon the students concerned.

 

Every year, the departments organize programmes for the benefit of B.Tech/B.Arch/M.Tech/MBA students and advise them in:


1. Preparation of Biodata.
2. Preparing for interviews.
3. How to face the interviews.
4. Preparation for Group Discussion.
5. Choosing a career.

6. Professional training of the students in organization/industry.

7. Organizing pre placement training programmers for the students.

 

Such programmes are organized to help the students to complete with confidence in the job market.
