The Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is organizing a Training Programme on “Capacity Building of Engineers in Earthquake Risk Management w.e.f. April, 23-27, 2010. The programme is being organized under the age is of National programme for Capacity building of Engineers in Earthquake risk management (NPCBEERM), Ministry of Home affairs, New Delhi.  Participants of the level of Executive Engineer, Assistant Engineer and  Junior Engineer from different Govt. Department i.e. HPPWD, HPIPH, SSA are attending the training programme.

Inaugurating the training programme, Professor I.K Bhat, Hon’ble, Director, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur stressed the need of Earthquake resistant design of Structures, particularly in the region of Himachal Pradesh. He emphasised that it is the duty of Engineers to safeguard the community by taking into consideration the Indian Codal provisions for designing the structures.
